For grown-ups

What Loupio is

  • Loupio is a living magnifying glass that opens real things: a bike, a heart, the Moon, a toaster.
  • Each thing is a Figure your child drives with their fingers.
  • Every number on screen comes from the same formula that moves the parts.
  • Your child predicts, breaks and fixes the machine, then measures the real one at home.
  • Each Figure files Tricks into a deck, so the same idea shows up in a bike and in the sky.

Ages

Built for ages 7 to 10. Younger children play with a grown-up. "Grown-up numbers" carry 10 to 12 year olds further.

How a Figure works

  1. Peek: drag Loupio over the closed object to see inside.
  2. Question: 1 question a child has really asked.
  3. Play: drive the main part with the real gesture.
  4. Predict: 3 picture cards before the key step, no score.
  5. Reveal: the step runs and 1 sentence explains it.
  6. Break lab: Grain breaks 1 part, a slow replay shows the 1 number that explains it.
  7. Same trick: the Trick cards fly into the deck and link Figures.
  8. True or cheat: every shortcut of the drawing, named.
  9. Mission: measure your own bike, toaster, pulse or Moon.
  10. Done: the drawing turns to colour and stars show progress.

How sessions end

A session ends by itself after 2 Figures: Bobine closes the workshop. You can open 1 more. No streak, no coins, no notifications.

The scientific contract

  1. 1 model per Figure. A pure TypeScript module computes every number.
  2. Unit tests compare each model to hand-computed values.
  3. Sources for every constant and claim, listed below. Values without a solid source say "model value" or "to verify".
  4. True or cheat cards name every shortcut: air ignored, atoms drawn big, timings illustrative.
  5. Review before public launch by a physics teacher and a paediatrician.
  6. No medical claims. The pulse mission says what is typical and sends any worry to a doctor.
